Cyclohexanone, an organic compound with the chemical formula C6H10O, is a saturated cyclic ketone whose carbonyl carbon atoms are included in a six membered ring. It is a colorless transparent liquid with earthy smell. When it contains traces of phenol, it has Mint smell. The impure substance is light yellow, colored by impurities generated with storage time, water white to grayish yellow, and has a strong pungent odor. The explosive pole mixed with air is the same as that of open chain saturated ketone. It is mainly used as organic synthesis raw material and solvent in industry, for example, it can dissolve nitrocellulose, coatings, paints, etc.
